3-D printed guns are now going to be able to be made legally by people with the knowledge and equipment. The article linked above goes onto explain that most people cannot afford the expensive 3-D printing technology to be able to make these firearms. Still, one of the usual anti-gun groups, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, is quoted in the story worrying about terrorists and people too dangerous to pass a background check now being able get their hands on guns. They are going to use 3-D printed guns...really?
Isn’t it funny how these same people want totally open borders and to abolish ICE, but are so concerned about terrorists being able to make 3-D printed firearms? One logical solution is to have secure borders so we prevent these potential terrorists from ever entering the country through an open border.
The reality is that people intent on doing harm with a firearm are not going to go through the process of making a 3-D printed firearm. Set aside from the fact that 3-D technology is still developing. It takes time, knowledge, and technical ability to be able to go through the process of making anything with a 3-D printer. Even if a person has no technical ability and buys a 3-D printed gun from someone else, the question of reliability still comes into play. It is much easier for a criminal to find a straw buyer, or steal the gun from someone else.
The government only settled because they knew they couldn't win. This is a victory for personal freedom, but we need to remain vigilant!
